ITPO SIGNS MoU 2020-21 WITH DoC

A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) 2020-21 between India Trade Promotion Organisation (ITPO) and Department of Commerce (DoC), Government of India was signed by Shri L.C. Goyal, CMD, India Trade Promotion Organisation and Sh. Anup Wadhawan, Secretary, Commerce, Govt. of India on 24.11.2020 .

ITPO SIGNS MoU 2019-20 WITH DoC

A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) 2019-20 between India Trade Promotion Organisation (ITPO) and Department of Commerce (DoC), Government of India was signed by Shri L.C. Goyal, CMD, India Trade Promotion Organisation and Dr. Anup Wadhawan, Secretary, Commerce, Govt. of India on15.05.2019 in Udyog Bhawan, New Delhi.

For the year 2018-19, the turnover is expected to be Rs. 179 crore. For the year 2019-20, The ‘Excellent’ financial target for Revenue from Operations has been fixed at Rs. 270 crore. CMD, ITPO has observed that, in view of the ongoing Redevelopment Project (IECC), achieving financial targets this year will be difficult. However, ITPO will make all out efforts to achieve MoU targets for the year 2019-20. Further, ITPO will continue to ensure better services delivery to all stakeholders.

ITPO SIGNS MoU 2018-19 WITH DoC

A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) 2018-19 between India Trade Promotion Organisation (ITPO) and Department of Commerce (DoC), Government of India was signed by Shri L.C. Goyal, CMD, India Trade Promotion Organisation and Smt. Rita Teaotia, Secretary, Commerce, Govt. of India on 12.06.2018 in Udyog Bhawan, New Delhi.

For the year 2017-18, the turnover is expected to be Rs. 244 crore and ITPO is expecting to achieve “Excellent” rating as per the self evaluation.

For the year 2018-19, The ‘Excellent’ financial target for Revenue from operations (Net) has been fixed at Rs. 170 crore. CMD, ITPO has observed that, in view of the ongoing Redevelopment Project (IECC) and consequent available exhibition space being much less in comparison to earlier years, achieving financial targets this year will be difficult. However, ITPO will make all out efforts to achieve “Very Good” rating as per the MoU targets for the year 2018-19. Further, ITPO will continue to ensure better services delivery to all stakeholders.

ITPO SIGNS MOU 2017-18 WITH DOC

A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) 2017-18 between India Trade Promotion Organisation (ITPO) and Department of Commerce (DoC), Government of India was signed by Shri L.C. Goyal, CMD, India Trade Promotion Organisation and Smt. Rita Teaotia, Secretary, Commerce, Govt. of India on 07.07.2017 in Udyog Bhawan, New Delhi.

On this occasion, Shri L.C. Goyal, CMD, ITPO mentioned that, for the year 2016-17, ITPO is expecting to achieve “Excellent” rating as per the self evaluation of MoU targets in which against the MoU target of Rs. 250 crore, the turnover is expected to be Rs. 263 crore. For the year 2017-18, the ‘Excellent’ financial target for Revenue from operations (Gross Sales) has been fixed at Rs. 228 crore. He observed that, in view of the Redevelopment Project (IECC) at ITPO, achieving various Financial/ Non-Financial targets this year will be difficult. ITPO will, however make all efforts to achieve “Excellent” rating as per the targets given by DPE for the year 2017-18 and ensure delivery of better services to all the stakeholders.

ITPO SIGNS MOU WITH DOC

Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) 2015-16 between India Trade Promotion Organisation (ITPO) and Department of Commerce (DoC), Government of India was signed by Shri J.S. Deepak, CMD, ITPO and Shri Rajeev Kher, Secretary, DoC in New Delhi on 27.3.2015. Speaking on the occasion, Shri J.S. Deepak, CMD, ITPO mentioned that for the year 2015-16, the ‘excellent’ financial target for Gross Sales has been fixed at Rs. 257 crore compared to Rs. 243 crore in the previous year. ITPO has taken up an ambitious MoU target for development of state-of-the-art Convention Centre in Pragati Maidan to accommodate world class conventions/meetings with a seating capacity of more than 4000. He also mentioned that ITPO has already achieved DPE excellent MoU rating for consecutive three years i..e 2011-12, 2012-13 and 2013-14 and expected to achieve excellent rating for the year 2014-15 also.

“Look East"

In step with the government policy of Look East for boosting Trade and economic relations, the ITPO, on its part, has struck a cord with Trade bodies in the region.

Asian Trade Promotion Forum (ATPF) - A forum of major Trade Promotion organizations of the Asian region established in 1987, India is a founder member, which currently has 24 members. The objective of ATPF is to enhance trade in the region through information exchange, implementation of cooperative projects and strengthening networks among ATPF members.

Major activities of ATPF are CEO meetings - CEOs of member TPOs gather once a year to discuss topical issues regarding international trade promotion and other relevant matters

Prior to each year’s CEO Meeting, JETRO hosts a Working-Level Meeting (WLM) in Tokyo where member TPOs confirm the status of joint projects and settle details related to the CEO meeting.

The Capacity Building Initiative Program (CBIP) was established to help ATPF member -TPOs, especially those in emerging economies and develop human resources. The forum encourages Joint exhibitions with a view to providing companies a platform to explore business opportunities in the internal market and to promote cooperation among member- TPOs. ITPO hosted the 26th CEO Meeting in Agra from March 5-7, 2-13.

Co-opting for Mutual benefits

Helping each other to help one self for mutual benefit is the underlying principle of regional trade promotion.

Faithful to the letter and spirit of the principle, ITPO signed on the dotted lines with international trade promotion organizations Memorandum of Understanding with Pakistan and Qatar.

Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP), Karachi, Pakistan - ITPO has signed a MoU with TDAP on Sept, 2011 for enhancing friendly relationship and promoting bilateral cooperation in wide ranging areas between the two parties on the basis of mutual benefits through diversification and enhancement of trade.

The major areas covered in the MoU include exchange of Information regarding trade events; exchange of publication; facilitating visit of Trade delegations; co-operate in organsing training programmes and exchange of experts in the field of trade promotion.

The General Tourism Authority of Qatar - ITPO has signed an MoU with the General Tourism Agency of Qatar on April 9, 2012 for strengthening the relations between the two countries and to support and develop the means of cooperation in the field of organizing exhibitions based on the mutual interests of their respective countries.

The MoU covers exchange of Information regarding trade events, exchange of publications, encouraging organisation of exhibitions in both countries, agreeing to participate in international exhibitions organized by the parties and market and promote the same.

ITPO rated "Excellent" among PSUs

In 2011-12, ITPO’s performance under MoU 2011-12 was evaluated by the Department of Public Enterprises as the best among all the CPSEs under the administrative control of the Department of Commerce namely, State Trading Corporation of India Ltd., Export Credit Guarantee Corporation of India Ltd., MMTC Ltd., and PEC Ltd.

Based on provisional performance, ITPO is expected to retain the ‘Excellent’ rating in 2012-13.

MoU between ITPO and the Department of Commerce (DoC)

The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) as applicable to public sector enterprises is a negotiated document between the government and the management of the enterprise specifying clearly the objectives of the agreement and the obligations of both the parties. The main purpose of the MoU system is to ensure a level playing field to the public sector enterprises vis-à-vis the private corporate sector.

MoU system in India was first introduced in 1986 as result of the recommendations of the Arjun Sengupta Committee Report (1984). The Committee laid emphasis on medium term contract between the Government and the Central Public Sector Enterprises (CPSEs) and recommended a five-year agreement that may be reviewed annually.

Accordingly, ITPO has been signing its annual Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) with its Administrative Department namely, the Department of Commerce since the year 1992-93.

ITPO - New Look

ITPO to sport a New Look

ITPO is going to sport a new and sleek look in the coming years. Pragati Maidan, the exhibition complex of ITPO will be evolving into a completely new and modernized exhibition complex with an integrated exhibition and convention centre.

The project is proposed to be executed in two phases - 1,00,000 sq.mtrs. of exhibition space with a Convention centre facility with a plenary hall of at least 5000 to 8000 pax capacity with additional state-of-the-art facilities and services in phase 1 (design year 2020), and further capacity addition of 1,00,000 sq.mtrs. in phase II (design year 2030). The overall project development have been planned for 412,320 sq.mtrs. of built up area (including support facilities and adequate basement parking space for about 4800 passenger car units (PCUs) to be executed in two phases.

After the completion of the first phase of proposed IECC (around 2017-18), the space at new facility will be of modern and state-of-the-art standard in all aspects.

The proposed infrastructure is likely to fill the serious gap in requirements for MICE (Meeting, Incentives, Conferences, Exhibitions) sector in the NCR. It is expected to increase substantially foreign exchange earnings of the country and revenues of the services and business sector of Delhi, as many events in the MICE sector may shift to New Delhi from East Asian countries and other countries of the world.

HOME TURF

ITPO has strengthened its multilateral and bilateral relationships by being a member of India Convention Promotion Bureau (ICPB), whose mandate is to promote India as a competent and credible destination for meetings, incentives, conventions and events (MICE) through its various activities. The mandate of ICPB is to promote India as a competent and credible meetings, incentives, conventions and events(MICE) destinations through its various activities. ICPB members include Corporate entities located in the India which are directly concerned with India’s MICE industry segments. Members of ICPB include the Department of Tourism, Government of India; Airlines; Hotels; Travel Agencies; Tour operators; Congress/convention centers and Professional congress/event organizers etc.

And signing MoUs with Visvesvaraya Industrial Trade Centre (VITC), Karnataka in May 2013 with the objective of ITPO and VITC co-operating with each other to carry forward the objectives of their respective organizations for mutual benefit and achievement of common goals of promoting the industry and exports from the region. The areas covered under the MOu are to Exchange information on each other’s area of activities, identify potential products/ markets and introduce to each other opportunities for cooperation and partners for investment and trade, cooperate in organizing and participate in trade promotion activities, both within and outside India. interact periodically to formulate strategies to enhance trade and exports and review the progress achieved and provide each other with consultancy services within their scope of business / service

MOU signed with Madurai District Tiny & Small Scale Industries Association (MADITSSIA) is aimed at enhancing exports from the state. The MoU provides for ITPO advising MADITSSIA on seminars, conferences and workshops, in organizing trade fairs and exhibitions and on participation in international trade fairs and other trade promotion activities and collaborate in organisation of trade fairs.

World Trade Center, Mumbai signed in April, 2008, for joint organisation of workshops/ panel discussions on contemporary issues facilitates interaction of visiting trade delegations relating to trade and commerce from various countries for interaction with the industry in the western region. It also ordains exchange of trade and investment related information and publications, development of databases on joint ventures and technology transfers and explore possibility of joint organization of exhibitions in India and abroad.

Bengal National Chamber of Commerce (BNCCI) - Around the same time, the intiative in the eastern regional was picked up by BNCCI, for promoting the Industrial Trade Fair in Kolkatta.

The Gems and Jewellery Export Promotion Council (GJEPC) Sparkling is the MOU signed with GJEPC for collaboration in organizing The India Gem & Jewellery Fair in Pragati Maidan, New Delhi. The fair is targeted at the consumers, especially those in New Delhi and the northern region. ITPO and GJEPC have agreed to host the exhibition for the next three years and plan to further scale it up on an international level.

National Book Trust - The world of books has found a patron in ITPO, when ITPO signed a MoU with National Book Trust for collaboration in organizing the World Book Fair annually at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi. The World Book Fair is one of the largest events for books and other publications organized in the country.

Department of Science and Technology (DST) - Inspired to boost the talent of young prospective scientists, ITPO signed up an MoU with DST in Sept., 2012 for the conduct of National level Exhibition and Project Competitions (NLEPC) under the Innovation in Science Pursuit for the Inspired Research (INSPIRE) Award Scheme. As per the MOU, ITPO will undertake organization of the NLEPC of DST on turnkey basis.

ITPO has successfully undertaken the organization of the 2nd edition of NLEPC in October 2012 and preparations for the organization of the 3rd edition to be held in October 2013 are underway.

ITPO SIGNS MOU WITH DOC

Memorandum Of Understanding (MoU) 2014-15 between India Trade Promotion Organisation (ITPO) and Department of Commerce (DOC), Government of India was signed by Smt. Rita Menon, Chairperson & Managing Director, ITPO and Shri Rajeev Kher, Secretary, DoC on 25th March, 2014 at Udyog Bhawan, New Delhi, as per guidelines of the Department of Public Enterprises (DPE). Present on the occasion were Shri J.S. Deepak, Additional Secretary and Shri S.R. Sahoo, Company Secretary, ITPO.

Speaking on the occasion, Smt. Rita, Menon, CMD, ITPO informed that for the year 2014-2015, the ‘excellent’ financial target for Gross Sales has been fixed at Rs 243 crores and Net surplus excellent target is fixed at Rs 145 crores. She also mentioned that ITPO has already achieved excellent MOU rating for the year 2011-12, 2012-13 and would be achieving excellent rating for the year 2013-14 also.
